Visit Tampa Bay and Brentford FC Join Forces: Uniting Soccer and Sunshine
Visit Tampa Bay, the tourism promotion agency for Hillsborough County, is kicking off a thrilling partnership with English Premier League sensation Brentford FC. This exciting collaboration aims to leverage the global popularity of soccer to promote the beautiful destination of Tampa Bay to an international audience.
Brentford FC recently made its mark in the United States by participating in the Premier League’s inaugural summer series, playing three games. The enthusiasm and loyalty of Brentford FC fans worldwide deeply impressed Visit Tampa Bay. Santiago Corrada Jr., the President and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “We look forward to a long, fruitful partnership as we bring our story to the Premier League, while Brentford FC brings their story to Tampa Bay and U.S. football fans.”
One of the exciting components of this partnership is a monthly quiz for fans, offering them a chance to win a pair of tickets for an upcoming game at the Gtech Community Stadium. Additionally, a lucky Brentford FC fan and their family will enjoy an all-expenses-paid trip to Tampa Bay at the end of the season.
The collaboration will also feature a “Tampa takeover” game, featuring advertising on the stadium boards, social and digital media activations, and hospitality upgrades for fans. On the Tampa Bay side, there will be Brentford FC watch parties, promotional events, and social media campaigns to boost the team’s recognition and growth in the U.S.
While the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, Visit Tampa Bay clarified that their branding will not appear on the team’s jersey. In the English Premier League, front-of-shirt sponsorships can range from $7 million to $20 million, underscoring the potential reach and impact of this partnership.
This partnership echoes past collaborations between Florida tourism agencies and British soccer teams. In 2015, Fulham FC sported jerseys sponsored by Visit Florida, the state’s tourism agency. Visit Tampa Bay’s prior partnership with Norwich City FC also showcased the agency’s commitment to leveraging the global appeal of soccer to promote the Tampa Bay region.
